Dr. Stephen P. Farr’s present professional practice encompasses substance abuse, outpatient mental health, chronic pain, closed head and stroke patient groups. He also provides neurofeedback, relaxation and other interventions with these populations as well as adult and couples therapy.
Stephen P. Farr received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Louisville in 1978. He completed internship training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1977 and a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology from the same institution in 1978. Dr. Farr served as an Assistant and tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, Texas from 1979 to 1988. He left Texas in 1988 to assume the Directorship of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC), Gainesville, Georgia. He is certified in EEG Neurofeedback.
Since 1990, Dr. Farr has been in full time independent practice in Gainesville, Georgia. Dr. Farr is licensed in the State of Georgia. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. He also maintains memberships in the The National Academy of Neuropsychology and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research.
Dr. Farr has written book chapters, been published in professional journals, and presented to national and international conferences in the areas of psychodiagnostics, neuropsychology and substance abuse.
